Morrison Pterosaurs (1999)

Painting I did using acrylics, showing the Late Jurassic pterosaurs Comodactylus and Mesadactylus flying over a sandy stream in the Morrison Formation. Down below, an Allosaurus eyes a passing Apatasaurus and ponders the advisability of launching an attack. I painted this over a framed Geological Map key that I first white-washed with spray paint.

In a freaky twist of fate, I discovered that a trackway in the Morrison Formation just north of Moab, Utah records almost exactly the same relationship of sauropod and theropod tracks...wierd.
